THE CROSS |
Arise, shine, for your light has come. And the glory of the Lord has dawned upon you. |
INVITATORY BEAD |
Open our eyes that we may see. Incline our hearts that we may desire. Order our steps that we may follow the way of your commandments. Amen. |
TRINITY BEADS |
O God, you called the magi
to you, sending them a star to guide them to Bethlehem. Help us to recognize
the ways in which you call us into a relationship with you. O God, the magi obediently
and gladly followed your star to Bethlehem, fulfilling your plan for them.
May your plan for our life follow in your way. O God, upon seeing your Child,
Jesus, the magi fell on their knees and worshiped him. May we worship you
giving ourselves for others. |
CRUCIFORM BEAD |
High Sovereign of the universe, we offer you our
possessions, make them all your own. We offer you our mindsets and we place them at your
feet. May we be filled with your Presence as incense fills a holy place. We offer you the shadows of our lives, the things
that are crushed; our little deaths and our final
death. May these be like the straw in the stable. May something beautiful for you be born in all this
straw. This we ask in faith with hope. |
WEEK I BEADS |
God, you are my light, my salvation—whom will I fear? You are the fortress of my life—of whom will I be
afraid? One thing I ask of you, O God, one thing I seek: that I may dwell in your house all the days of my life. That
i may gaze on your
beauty and meditate in
your Temple. Hear me when I call, YHWH!
Have mercy on me and answer me! You say to my heart, “Seek my face,”
and so it is your face I seek. Wait for God—stand tall
and let your heart take
courage! Yes, wait for YHWH! |

TRINITY BEADS |
Set us free, O God, from the bondage of our sins, and
give us the liberty of that abundant life, which you have made known to us. Holy One, we encounter you in our lives and try to
follow faithfully, but so often we get lost or turn away. We try to love our neighbors and ourselves, and even,
by your grace, to love our enemies, but we fail. We take the wrong path and stray from the way of your
love. Forgive us, O God, and guide us back to you. |
INVITATORY BEAD |
Among the lowly you were born. O God,
save us. The wise and powerful bowed down before you. O God, teach us. You have come to lead us to holiness. O God, guide us. You ask us to call on you, and so we offer these
prayers. O God, hear us. |
THE CROSS |
We turn to you, God of Love, and we accept your grace. We accept your pardon. We accept the gift of a new path in your way of justice
and peace. Amen. |
